knit-clipart-knitting1Throughout the year a group of St Faith’s ladies, along with other interested knitters, get together to knit for charity – but also to enjoy each other’s company and have a good natter.

We meet on Fridays 2-4pm in the Lowry Room in St Faith’s Parish Centre.  Usually 8 to 12 people turn up each week – and if you would like to come along, you are very welcome to join us!

For more information, please call Anne Earl on 023 9255 1687.

Who do we make items for?

Two SaintsOur primary charity is the Two Saints Hostel for homeless people in Fareham. In the past few years we have made blankets, hats, scarves and gloves for their residents and other homeless people.

We also send blankets to the charity Hope and Aid Direct, which takes lorry- loads of clothes, food and household items to needy areas in Eastern Europe.

Following a talk at our Mothers’ Union we made a link with the Women’s Refuges in Fareham and Gosport and have knitted cot blankets for some of the mothers they help. We have also sent knee blankets and bedsocks to Gosport War Memorial Hospital for use by elderly patients and we regularly send knitted blankets and hats for the premature baby unit at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

tea smMany Church members and friends help us by donating knitting yarn and some pop in for a chat – please note that we welcome visitors – we make the tea at about 3.15 pm and there is usually home-made cake as well!
