We believe that providing a safe environment for children and vulnerable adults in all church activities is of paramount importance.
At St Faith’s, all volunteers and staff who work with young people and vulnerable adults are required to sign a personal declaration, provide references and have an up to date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) certificate.
Volunteers and staff are also required to undertake appropriate training with the Diocese of Portsmouth and receive certification at the completion of their course.
The procedures and practises of Safeguarding are managed by our Parish Safeguarding Representatives, Margaret Hunt (01329 662125), and our vicar, Rev Dr Paul Chamberlain (023 9200 6184), or send him a message here.
We work in close collaboration with the Portsmouth Diocese Safeguarding Team – see here for more information, and for guidance if you are concerned that a child or adult who may be vulnerable has been harmed and urgent action is needed.
St Faith’s PCC (Parochial Church Council) have a Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy which is regularly reviewed, is published in our church porches and is available to dowload here.
